The Church

Location and Parking:

Sidmouth Parish Church is situated very close to the center of the town and only 200 meters or so from the coast. The church itself has no parking available on site. As with all Devon seaside towns, Sidmouth can get extremely busy during the summer months, meaning there is very little parking available anywhere.

Venue

Accommodation:

We expect there will be enough accomodation on site to enable everyone who wants a room to be allocated one, but allocation will be made on a 'first come first served basis'. To assist us to manage this aspect of the weddding, can we ask you to complete the Wedding Guest Form as soon as possible (by 21 March if possible) so that we can understand demand and manage allocation. Once we receive your response we will be able to ensure the Venue contacts you to complete the booking.

Carriages

The day's festivities will draw to a close at midnight. For those still partying, we will say our farewells and make our way to the tree-house in the grounds. Please do come and wave us on our way. Although the bar will close, you are more than welcome to sit and finish your drinks in the house or gardens. However, please do join us for breakfast at 10:00 in the morning so the party can carry on!

Wedding Breakfast

Guests will be invited to take their seats for the start of the Wedding Breakfast held in the apple orchard, weather permitting. We hope the weather will be kind to us, but this being England we cannot guarantee it. As the orchard is situated within a walled garden, still conditions can be expected. Please do keep an eye on the forecast and bring warm layers if needed.

Drinks Reception

A drinks reception will be held in the Italian gardens of Deer Park Country House. Guests can relax and mingle, enjoying wines, beers or soft drinks accompanied by hors d'oeuvres in this stunning garden setting. We will be joining you after our photos have been taken.

Church Ceremony

The marriage ceremony will be held at Sidmouth Parish Church. We are delighted to have Mother Victoria celebrate our wedding in the Anglican tradition. We have reserved car parking for our guests at a private car park very close to the Church (see map on Church page).

To Church

The Church is approximately 10 miles along Devonian country lanes from the Venue. If you do decide to visit the Venue first please do leave enough time to drive to the Church. We anticipate the commute will take between 35 and 45 minutes by car.

Check-in

If staying at the Venue on the night of the wedding, check-in can be performed after the Church service during the drinks reception (see our FAQs on the Venue page). Guests who wish to check in before the Church ceremony can access the Venue from 11:00am. Teas, coffee and light refreshments may be bought and there are comfortable sitting rooms. Please do leave plenty of time however to get to the Church.
